Camellia japonica ‘Rubra Simplex’, also known as ‘Rubra’, is a cultivar of Camellia japonica L. It’s a beautiful plant that is native to China and has been imported to various parts of the world.

This plant was brought to Opatija, Croatia in 1845 and was planted in Park Angiolina where it continues to bloom in all colors, delighting flower lovers for over 178 years. The flower of Camellia is associated with late autumn, winter, and early spring.

It’s worth noting that if nature had not refused an agreeable aroma, it would be the sovereign of plants, to which no other could be compared, without disparagement. This plant truly holds a special place among the plants of our greenhouses.
